Casemiro becomes the ninth Brazilian to score for Manchester United – Man United News And Transfer News

Casemiro’s dramatic late equalizer at Stamford Bridge on Sunday afternoon inscribed his name in the United history books as the ninth Brazilian player to score for the club.

The midfielder’s wonderful looping header secured United a well-earned point in London, after another strong performance from Ten Hag’s men.

As stated on the club’s website, Casemiro joins eight compatriots on the club’s scoring list.

Current teammates Fred and Antony are Casemiro’s most recent scorers, with his summer partner singing Antony scoring on his debut last month.

Antony went on to make further United history by becoming the first player from any nation to score in each of his first three Premier League appearances for the club with goals against Arsenal, City and Everton respectively.

Alex Telles, still a United player on loan at Sevilla, scored his only goal for the club last season with an impressive volley against Villarreal.

Summer game and now Fulham player Andreas Pereira is also on the list with four goals.

Twins wingers Rafael and Fabio da Silva scored in their time at the club with midfielder Anderson, who played regularly for the twins, another United goalscorer.

Further back and the first samba star to score for the club was Kleberson, who scored twice in his two-year stay at Old Trafford.

Fred needs one more goal to top the charts entirely, his nine goals in all competitions putting him top of the list, along with his midfield partner Anderson.

Casemiro’s goal was undoubtedly one of the most important, as United faced Graham Potter’s men after a Jorginho penalty in the 87th minute.

His header ensured United walked away with a point as they aim to finish the pre-World Cup schedule as strongly as possible.

There are three Premier League games remaining, along with the two standout Europa League group stage games and a League Cup third round tie. United face action-packed action three weeks before the tournament in Qatar.
