Jamie Carragher has urged Jurgen Klopp to abandon the high line that has become his Liverpool calling card in recent years.
The former Reds defender tweeted his thoughts online as the Merseysiders trailed 4-1 in Naples late in second-half action, noting the complete lack of intensity his former team offered.
Liverpool cannot continue with this high line and playing offside as long as the intensity of the team, especially in midfield, is non-existent. You have to adapt. It has been evident throughout the season. Analysis on @CBSSportsGolazo incoming! #NAPLIV #ChampionsLeague

Harvey Elliott was once again our most reliable player in the middle of the park before Thiago Alcantara’s entry into the cauldron.
In fact, it was telling that the Spaniard registered three times as many duels on the ground than his 36-year-old teammate James Milner.
7/9 field duels won by Thiago during his 27 minutes. James Milner won 2/10 duels during his 63 minutes on the pitch. I have never seen a greater level difference between two players playing the same role as those two.

That’s not to attribute tonight’s performance to the veteran standard-setter: the Englishman shouldn’t start a Premier League game for us, let alone a Champions League tie.
However, if we are to take anything from another disappointing result in Naples, it is that we desperately need our No.6 fit and ready to contribute on a regular basis this season if we are to have any hope of rediscovering the kind of intensity that made us a quadruple contender last term.
