Carragher hits back at talkSPORT for misinterpreting his transfer comment

Jamie Carragher spoke passionately after Liverpool’s loss to Napoli and his comments on our transfer deals this summer became a topic of radio talk.

TalkSPORT used the words of the Bootle-born expert and pretended he was only talking about this now, due to our current poor form, saying nothing over the summer.

Writing on his Twitter account, the 44-year-old responded to a video of the online interview: ‘Not once did he say Liverpool were hugely wrong in the transfer market and I am not being wise after the event! Everybody knew that LFC needed/wanted a midfielder, Klopp, club, fans. They tried with Tchouameni and right now they couldn’t with Bellingham. Keep up with clickbait’.

We all know that our former defender doesn’t beat around the bush and in this case too he was more than happy to defend himself.

There will be plenty of rival supporters who would have reveled in seeing Jurgen Klopp’s side go down 4-1 in Italy, which is why we featured it on this national radio station.

Despite his scathing comments about the performance in Naples, the Sky Sports and CBS pundit is also a fan of our club and doesn’t want his words used against the team he loves and used to play for.

Let’s hope this is enough of our former No.23 and that his words are not twisted anymore.
