Canelo Alvarez and Gennadiy Golovkin will step onto the scales today and weigh in for Saturday’s undisputed super middleweight championship fight, the third time the two Hall of Fame-bound stars have squared off in the ring.
The event starts at 4 p.m.
Canelo (57-2-2, 39 KOs) is trying to avoid a second straight loss as he was defeated in May by Dmitry Bivol in a 175-pound title fight. Golovkin (42-1-1, 37 KOs) will try to finally score the victory over Canelo who twice controversially eluded him, and at 40 years old, it could not only be the last fight in this rivalry, but the last in GGG’s. career.
Along with the main event, we’ll see the weigh-ins of Jesse “Bam” Rodriguez defending his WBC 115-pound title against Israel Gonzalez, Ali Akhmedov vs. Gabriel Rosado, Austin “Ammo” Williams vs. Kieron Conway, and more from Saturday’s undercard. .
