Canelo vs GGG 3 is official! Weigh-in results, video, stare down

Canelo Alvarez and Gennadiy Golovkin made weight comfortably today, and Saturday night’s undisputed super middleweight championship fight is set.

It will be the third meeting between Canelo (57-2-2, 39 KOs), who is the king at 168 pounds, and Golovkin (42-1-1, 37 KOs), who still has a pair of middleweight titles.

Canelo weighed in at 167.4 pounds, with GGG at 167.8, in what is his first serious fight over 160 in his long professional career. They both looked in good shape, not that anyone expected less from two elite fighters.

“It is not new. It’s always the same,” Golovkin said of another intense matchup between him and his rival. He also repeatedly denied that Canelo predicted a knockout victory, saying he “didn’t comment” on it.

“Maybe he didn’t see anything new in my eyes, but what he needs to see is what’s going to happen tomorrow,” Canelo said. “I want the knockout. I know it will not be easy, he is a great fighter. But I want to finish within 12 rounds.”
