Undisputed super middleweight champion Saúl “Canelo” Álvarez (58-2-2, 39 KOs) settled his trilogy with Gennadiy “GGG” Golovkin (42-2-1, 37 KOs) with a clear twelve-round unanimous decision on Saturday night at T-Arena Mobile in Las Vegas. The first few rounds were close with a lead for Canelo. Golovkin’s face quickly became scarred. Canelo ramped up the aggression while the 40-year-old GGG couldn’t seem to pull the trigger on his power shots. A desperate Golovkin rallied a bit down the stretch, but it was too little too late. The scores were surprisingly close at 116-112, 115-113, 115-113.
