Massachusetts forward Calvin Kattar will take main event honors at a UFC Vegas 63 event on October 29. The New England Cartel mainstay is expected to fight Ipswitch striker Arnold Allen in ‘Sin City.’

After suffering a close split decision loss in May in the main event of UFC Austin, Kattar suffered a back-and-forth loss against fellow contender Josh Emmett at ‘The Lone Star State.’ Earlier in the year, Kattar bounced back in the winners’ enclosure with a unanimous win by the judges against Giga Chikadze.

Allen, who most recently appeared on the main card of UFC London in March, stopped the lightweight division’s staple Dan Hooker with a flurry of punches in the first round, notching his ninth success in a row in the octagon. ESPN MMA reporter Brett Okamoto first reported the matchup according to UFC leader Dana White.

“A big one at featherweight in the making… No. 5 Calvin Kattar (@CalvinKattar) vs. No. 6 Arnold Allen (@Arnoldbfa) will headline UFC Fight Night on Oct. 29, according to Dana White,” Okamoto tweeted. “It should be official shortly. Action fight.

23-6 as a pro, Kattar, a product of Tyson Chartier in the New England Cartel, notched his seventh win with the UFC courtesy of his judging success against Chikadze earlier this year.

Boasting an impressive 19-1 pro record, the 28-year-old Allen also has other notable UFC wins over Makwan Amirkhani, upcoming Bellator Dublin co-star Mads Burnell, as well as Sodiq Yusuff, to name a few.
