Bukayo Saka wowed by what Liverpool target Jude Bellingham has done

Liverpool have been warned that a string of stellar World Cup displays could lead to Jude Bellingham’s asking price rising significantly beyond the reported £131.6m mark.

After an exceptional outing, for Gareth Southgate’s England in a 3-3 draw with Germany, the Englishman will have done little to allay those fears.

Commenting “levels” on the midfielder’s Instagram post after the match, Bukayo Saka paid tribute to the quality of his international team-mate, further reinforcing the importance of the Reds outperforming their domestic and European rivals for the signing of the 19 year old.

Bellingham, Winter, Liverpool
Jude Bellingham has attracted the interest of Liverpool, Manchester City and Real Madrid to name a few.

While we can appreciate that Real Madrid’s current midfield is comparatively more star-studded, particularly after Los Blancos beat us to Aurelien Tchouameni in the summer, we find it difficult to simply refute the possibility that Julian Ward and his team of recruiting win the transfer race.

Liverpool is not entirely short of world-class quality; To this day, a midfield trio of Fabinho, Thiago Alcantara and Jordan Henderson remains a genuinely impressive combination.

Naby Keita offers quality beyond that, as does Harvey Elliott and Fabio Carvalho (although the pair have a lot to do development-wise), Curtis Jones is still admired by Jurgen Klopp, although Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain’s struggles with Las Injuries have limited his ability to showcase his talent at Anfield.

The Merseyside project remains attractive, regardless of our mixed start to the season, and we shouldn’t write it off just yet.
