Bremer delighted with Brazil callup, reveals the support of Danilo and SandroJuvefc.com

While the team’s performances have been anything but pleasant, Gleison Bremer has been one of Juventus’ few reliable players since the start of the season.

The defender made a switch from Torino to rivals across town after a tug-of-war with Inter, virtually replacing the departing Matthijs de Ligt.

Since opening day of the campaign, the 25-year-old has been a fixture in Max Allegri’s starting lineup.

While some in Italy expected to see Bremer in the Azzurri jersey as a naturalized player, the centre-back finally received a well-deserved call-up from the Brazilian team.

The Selecao will play two friendly matches in this international break, the first against Ghana on Friday and the second against Tunisia next Tuesday.

For his part, Bremer hopes to impress if he is given the chance to carve out a place for himself in the World Cup squad that travels to Qatar in November.

The Juventus defender revealed what joining Brazil means to him and thanked the support of two of his compatriots and Juventus teammates.

“I am very happy for the opportunity to be in the national team. It is the dream of every athlete and every child to be here”, Bremer was quoted as saying by ilBianconero.

“I know we are close to the World Cup, only 50 days to go, but I came here to earn my place. I came here to show Tite that I am capable and that I deserve the opportunity.”

“I talked a lot with Danilo and Alex Sandro. They helped me with many things. Since it is my first call, they have been giving me advice. They have supported me since I joined Juventus.”
