Leonardo Bonucci has been at Juventus for a long time and the defender remains a key player for the Bianconeri.
He is currently the captain of his team and is tasked with leading the players on the field in their quest for a return to glory.
The last two terms have been tough for the Bianconeri and this campaign could be worse than the last.
They finished that season without trophies and have been so bad this term that a top-four finish could elude them.
Failure to return to the Champions League would be another loss for the Bianconeri and could seal Bonucci’s fate as a player.
Calciomercato reveal that Juve have contemplated offloading him in the January transfer window.
However, they have decided to wait until the end of the season to make that decision.
If they fail to seal a return to UCL, he will be sacked to save his €7m per year salary.
Juve FC says
Bonucci has been one of our best players in recent seasons, which is why he has been chosen as the new captain.
But his performance level has dropped, which could be due to his age.
With that in mind, firing him in the summer wouldn’t hurt, as long as we sign a replacement.
