Bobby Firmino’s unselfish approach to the ‘competition’ with Darwin Nunez

Bobby Firmino has built a career working selflessly for his teammates and this selfless nature came to the fore once again, when he opened up about his relationship with Darwin Núñez.

Speaking to Sky Sports, the 30-year-old said: “[Darwin Nunez] He is a good friend and I think he will help us a lot.

“Obviously there will always be competition in all positions, but we are a team and what counts is the best for Liverpool, getting the three points and the best for the team.

“This is a coach’s decision, I will always give everything to have the best opportunity to play.”

It would be so easy to create headlines for others by saying that our No. 9 wanted to be the main man, at the same time, however, it’s also easy to state that his main focus is getting the team a result.

When it comes to the Brazilian, it is in his nature to sacrifice and therefore there is no reason to believe that these are not the words of his heart.

He will act as a mentor to the 23-year-old and let’s hope they have a great relationship, on and off the pitch.
