Manchester United midfielder Mason Mount has returned to training ahead of his team’s clash against Nottingham Forest on Saturday.
Mount joined his team-mates as they held a training session at Carrington, fresh from their 3-2 comeback win against Aston Villa on Tuesday night.
A brace from Alejandro Garnacho and the all-important winning goal from Rasmus Hojlund sealed United’s victory and ensured the club took all three points.
Mount has not played for United since coming on as a substitute against Luton Town on November 11, just before the international break.
The England international replaced Christian Eriksen, who was injured just before half-time.
As it turned out, Mount would also suffer an injury setback.
Eriksen was included in the starting XI for the Red Devils who faced Unai Emery’s men at Old Trafford.
United confirmed via their official website that Mount has returned and is not far away from making competitive appearances.
“Manchester United midfielder Mason Mount is back training on the pitch at Carrington as he steps up his recovery from injury.”
The 24-year-old was photographed performing exercises on the training ground.

Mount has made 12 appearances in total in all competitions this season. He only has one assist to his name.
Ten Hag is likely to give a clearer picture of Mount’s fitness during his press conference on Friday ahead of United’s clash with Forest.
Even more positive for Ten Hag and the team is that there are other players who will also be returning soon. Players like Lisandro Martínez and Casemiro are on track to return in January.
