Big injury boost confirmed & Thiago back

Liverpool have five games left before the Qatar World Cup kicks off, a potentially double-edged sword for the Reds should they manage to build up some momentum between now and August 12.

The Merseysiders will welcome the opportunity to rest key men, not to mention that others (such as Luis Diaz and Diogo Jota) will have time to recover, retrain and prepare for an action-packed second half of the season.

Asking Jurgen Klopp’s men for a perfect score of five out of five might be a tall order given that our next fixture list includes a visit to Tottenham and a fit European side hosting Napoli at Anfield.

Alisson Becker is once again the man of choice between the sticks as we try to build some consistency, behind a backline that contains Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez.

Thiago Alcantara replaces Jordan Henderson after the Englishman’s knee clash in Amsterdam (although his availability on the bench means we’ve fortunately avoided the sidelining of another key man), while Harvey Elliott deserves his place.

Last but not least are two strikers from Darwin Nunez and Mo Salah who line up against Leeds United.
