Chelsea are reportedly making rapid progress on a transfer deal for young Monaco centre-back Benoit Badiashile.
According to Ben Jacobs, the Blues have already agreed personal terms with Badiashile, while the reporter added that the 21-year-old looks like a signing with great potential, even if he needs time to adjust to the Premier League.
See below for details of Jacobs on his Twitter thread…
Definitely room for improvement, too. He shows good anticipation when defending counter-attacks, but a bit more exposed with his back to goal when attackers are running at him or moving intricately around the box. Type of signing with huge potential but may need time to adjust to the EPL.

Chelsea signed two central defenders in the summer, Kalidou Koulibaly and Wesley Fofana, following the departures of Antonio Rudiger and Andreas Christensen.
However, Koulibaly has been a bit unconvincing while Fofana has struggled with injuries, so another signing in Badiashile makes sense for the west London giants.

Chelsea fans are hoping the deal is completed soon as it could represent a good start to January.
After ending Badiashile, the Blues would arguably do well to make other signings as Graham Potter’s side do not currently look like one of the favorites to finish in the top four at the end of the season.
