Ben Doak earns his first international call-up for Scotland

Ben Doak has had a wonderful start in the Liverpool academy and this has seen him earn a first international call-up for Scotland.

As reported by the Scottish FA: “Several players have been promoted from Billy Stark’s Under-19 squad, while Ben Doak and Rory Wilson were part of Brian McLaughlin’s squad that qualified for the European Under-17 Championship in Israel. in June”. .

Being promoted from the Under-17 to the Under-21 squad shows how well the striker is performing for the Reds and this will be a huge moment in his career so far.

The 16-year-old attracted more attention and headlines after a strong solo effort against Napoli in the UEFA Youth League, with his hopes surely pinned on a senior call-up to the Reds soon.

Given the upcoming League Cup tussle with Derby County and a certain lack of depth at the top of Jurgen Klopp’s side, the former Celtic teenager will be keeping an eye on what date he could make his debut.

Hopefully he can follow in Andy Robertson’s footsteps and one day be the captain of his nation, while also being able to feed on him and Calvin Ramsay for advice for years to come.

It’s a foot in the door to perhaps win a full senior call-up and hopefully the youngster can make his mark, in the next international break.
