There are often times when football fades into the background and when the whole stadium came together on 77 minutes in memory of John Motson, this was another example of that.
The legendary broadcaster’s closing remarks before retiring came at Selhurst Park and with the 77-year-old’s passing this week, it seemed like a very fitting time and place to perform the tribute.

There aren’t many people who have everyone’s respect within the game and the sight of Crystal Palace and Liverpool fans uniting shows that the former Match of the Day commentator is one of those people.
These moments of thanks are all too often done when the person being loved is no longer with us, but hopefully this was a gesture that made your family and friends smile.
