BBC man slams Leeds United player after Crystal Palace defeat

BBC pundit Simon Walton blames Liam Cooper for Leeds United’s defeat at Selhurst Park.

The Yorkshire club suffered a heavy defeat in London this afternoon despite taking an early lead through Pascal Struijk.

Cooper was to blame for the first-half tie when he gave away an unnecessary free throw.

“You can’t defend the indefensible and that was poor for Coops today on both goals,” he told BBC Radio Leeds.

“Listen, he’s another one of those players that I think we’ve accepted that that will happen from time to time.

“Those moments pass. And we have four central halves in the club. Are any of them preparing to be number one? I mean, Pascal has done fantastically well at left back, so I’m going to write him off because he hasn’t really had the chance.” Walton said.
