Bayern Munich Want to Offer New Contract to Jamal Musiala

Bayern Munich have confirmed that they want to offer a new contract to the young player of the German national soccer team, Jamal Musiala.

Jamal Musiala has been playing for Bayern Munich since signing for the German giants in July 2019. The highly-rated youngster made his Bundesliga debut in June 2020, playing for Bayern Munich against SC Freiburg.

Since making his senior team debut for Bayern Munich, 19-year-old Jamal Musiala has made 100 appearances for the Bundesliga heavyweights in all competitions.

He has been impressive for Bayern Munich in the first half of the 22/23 season. Musiala has played 22 games for Bayern so far this 22/23 season and has scored 22 goals with the German team.

Hasan Salihamidžić, Bayern Munich’s sporting director, told BILD that they plan to sit down with Jamal Musiala’s mother and management to discuss the youngster’s future at the club.

“We told Jamal’s mother and his management that we are very happy with Jamal,” Salihamidžić told BILD, according to Fabrizio Romano. “We want to sit down with them after the World Cup to talk about Jamal’s future at Bayern.”

Jamal Musiala was part of the German soccer team that participated in the 2022 FIFA World Cup. He started for Germany in all three Group E games as they were knocked out of the quadrennial event in the group stage.

Musiala last renewed his contract with Bayern in 2021. His current contract with Bayern Munich expires in 2026. That means he has more than three years left on his current deal with the German club.

However, it comes as no surprise that Bayern want to offer Musiala a new contract given how impressive he has been for them in the 22/23 season. Tying Jamal Musiala to a new contract would also help Bayern avoid potential interest from other European heavyweights.

Meanwhile, Bayern currently sit at the top of the Bundesliga points table. They sit at the top of the table with 34 points from 15 games. They enjoy a four-point advantage over SC Freiburg, who sit second in the points table.
