While his contract expires in 2023, United can extend it by a year.

Given Dalot’s performances for the Red Devils, it’s no surprise they’re looking for a long-term deal.

Despite clubs circling around trying to drive Frimpong away, Rolfes is relaxed. Frimpong’s contract only expires in 2025.

Speaking to Sky Deutschland, Rolfes said: “He is very striking with his way of playing and he is a very important player for us. I told him that he will still get his playing time with his quality within the tournament.

“He can decide a game with one action because he is incredibly fast and good at dribbling. We will be happy when he returns. [after the World Cup] with us. Jeremie has a long-term contract at Leverkusen, so we’re very relaxed.”

With Qatar 2022 ending soon, United manager Erik ten Hag will redouble his efforts to build a team that can restore the Red Devils’ reputation.
