Atalanta president names his price for Juventus target Joakim Maehle

Amid the club’s financial and legal crisis, Juventus are unlikely to enjoy a spectacular transfer session in January.

However, many observers expect the board to take over the services of a new winger who can rotate with Juan Cuadrado on the right wing.

The Colombian played non-stop for most of the early part of the campaign, which ultimately took its toll on his performances.

In recent weeks, Atalanta’s Joakim Maehle has burst onto the scene as one of the top targets for the role. The 25-year-old can play on either flank and has been a regular starter in Gian Piero Gasperini’s formation.

According to Calciomercato, the president of Atalanta, Antonio Percassi, has put a price on Juventus’ goal. Maehle was apparently only leaving Bergamo for a fee of at least €15m.

The Danish international joined La Dea in January 2021. His contract with the club runs until 2025.

Juve FC says

In today’s market, $15 million sounds like a fair price for a relatively young fullback who can cover both flanks.

In addition to rotating with Cuadrado in the right lane, Maehle can also act as an alternative to Alex Sandro on the left, especially if Max Allegri returns to playing with four back.
