Arsenal targeting French international Marcus Thuram to provide attacking competition

Arsenal target Borussia Mönchengladbach striker Marcus Thuram to compete in attack.

With Arsenal eliminated from the Carabao Cup at home to Brighton on Wednesday night, Mikel Arteta may be looking to improve the depth of his squad going forward.

Players like Gabriel Martinelli and Bukayo Saka have performed exceptionally on the flanks for Arsenal, but it will take more competition in attack for Arteta to take his team to the next level.

One player they are now considering making a move for is Monchengladbach winger Thuram, according to Milan Live.

However, the report states that Aston Villa and AC Milan are also in the running, so it won’t be easy for Arsenal to land their man.

Milan and Villa are likely to be able to offer Thuram more regular playing time, with Martinelli and Saka indecipherable for Arsenal at the moment.

Thuram’s contract expires at the end of the season, so he could be available cheaply in January, and the German club could be forced to part with him to prevent him from leaving for free in the summer.
