English Premier League club Arsenal have reignited their interest in bringing in Italian midfielder Manuel Locatelli, who currently plays for Juventus.
After a brief spell at Atalanta, Locatelli joined the youth facilities of Serie A giants AC Milan. He then graduated from the Milan academy and made his senior debut for the Rossoneri.
Locatelli then won the Italian Super Cup with Milan and played two seasons for them. The midfielder then joined Serie A club Sassuolo on loan. Locatelli soon became a key part of the Blacks and Greens and his loan became a permanent one.
Locatelli showed great perseverance and made his debut with the national team call-up. He made his debut for the national team in a 1-0 victory over the Netherlands. Locatelli then established himself in the Italian team and won the Euro 2020 championship with them. After this successful European Championship campaign, Locatelli joined Juventus on a two-year loan from Sassuolo.
Arsenal interested in Juventus midfielder Locatelli
After joining Juventus in the winter of 2021, Locatelli has failed to produce consistent performances like his days at Sassuolo. The midfielder is no longer even a guaranteed starter in Turin.
His style of play is clearly not the right one to be part of Massimiliano Allergir’s team because of what he has suffered in these few months. Juventus currently have a €35m option to buy the talented midfielder, but it looks like they won’t be spending the money on him.
Now, a recent report from Football Italia suggests that EPL club Arsenal are once again interested in bringing the midfielder to the Emirates.
The Gunners were among the many teams that tried to sign the midfielder after his brilliant campaign at Euro 2020. However, they were unable to make another appearance at the Italian International back then. But now Arsenal think again that they can get his services.
Arsenal have had a great start to the season. They have won seven of their first eight matches. They are currently positioned at the top of the Premier League.
Arsenal have suffered recently due to multiple injuries in their midfield. They tried to bring in Douglas Luiz from Aston Villa on deadline day for the same reason, but were unsuccessful.
Now the Gunners management knows perfectly well that if they want to win the coveted EPL, they will need more signings at the base of midfield. Hence they were interested in the Italian midfielder.

It was previously revealed that Arsenal’s English Premier League team-mate Manchester United have also tried to sign the midfielder. However, back then Juventus were in no mood to call it quits. But now the situation has changed and they will not be an obstacle in Arsenal’s way.
Juventus will play Bologna in their next game and will hope to turn their season around.
