Arsenal extend Adidas kit deal until 2030 on eve of derby win

Arsenal extend Adidas kit contract

Arsenal and Adidas have extended their partnership until 2030. The north London club celebrated the deal with a commanding 3-1 victory over bitter rivals Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday. Arsenal essentially controlled the match from start to finish. Goals from Thomas Partey, Gabriel Jesus and Granit Xhaka sank Spurs that day.

The Gunners reunited with the German sportswear brand in 2019 after a 25-year hiatus. Arsenal previously had kit deals with Nike and Puma in the late 1990s and 2000s.

The club’s commercial director, Juliet Slot, was clearly enthusiastic about the extension. “We are delighted to agree a new partnership with Adidas until 2030,” said Slot. “The long-term nature of our extension means there is a real commitment to building on this brilliant collaboration, with a strong focus on growing women’s football and developing our sustainability strategy.”

“Since we came together, we have driven initiatives and investments in our local communities, and developed exciting and bold product ranges for our players and fans alike,” continued Slot. “We are proud of the progress we have made together and are excited to continue our partnership.”

Arsenal have recently tried to become a more sustainable club. These endeavors include installing electric vehicle charging stations for fans, implementing reusable cups, and even using electric lawnmowers to mow award-winning grass at the stadium. The partnership with Adidas will help continue these efforts.

Adidas’s commitment to being green

Adidas has committed to using more recycled polyester in its clothing in the next two years. The duo also came together to support local social issues. Arsenal introduced its No More Red campaign earlier in the year. This initiative raises awareness about violence, particularly among young people. Adidas made all the white jerseys special in support of the cause.

“The work we have done with Arsenal has broken new ground in football associations and both on and off the pitch, Arsenal continues to be at the forefront of the game,” said Adidas CEO Kasper Rorsted. “We are really excited to continue supporting the men’s and women’s teams, providing the best for the athlete.”
