Arrigo Sacchi urges Juventus and other Italian clubs to copy NapoliJuvefc.com

Legendary Italian coach Arrigo Sacchi was impressed by the way Napoli play their game and wants more Italian teams to play like them.

The Partenopei play attacking football based on possession which helps them score a lot of goals.

They focus more on relentlessly attacking teams instead of defending and waiting to counterattack.

This has helped them score many goals in Serie A and in Europe, including beating Liverpool at home in the Champions League this season.

It’s not a style of play unique to Italian teams, but it’s exciting to watch, and Sacchi says it wouldn’t cost more money to implement.

He said via Calciomercato:

“Napoli won by practicing what the Dutch call “totalvoetbal” and it showed that if they wanted to and if they weren’t stuck in old concepts like the bolt and the counterattack, the other Italian teams could go that way. Do the Italian coaches want to understand that the game is the only thing that really matters, it costs nothing, it does not blush the budgets and it never gets injured?

Juve FC says

There have been clubs that play fluid attacking football in Serie A every season.

Napoli have been that team in the past, and Atalanta also play a sweet brand of attacking football.

However, none of them have managed to win Serie A, which is a clear sign that defending well and counter-attacking works better in this league.
