Argentina manager wants unfit players to be rested by their clubs including Juventus

Argentina coach Lionel Scaloni is preparing his team for another shot at the World Cup, but is having trouble naming his team for the competition.

Several of his players have been struggling with injuries, so he has so far delayed naming his final squad for the competition.

He hopes to have the most fit squad possible and has asked clubs not to field eligible players if they are not 100 per cent.

Speaking on the subject recently, Scaloni said via Tuttomercatoweb:

“The initial idea was to give the list this weekend, but since we are having some problems with the players, we are going to move on to next week. We want to be completely sure that we can count on some, that when we deliver the list they can play. We are talking to the clubs, we would like those who are not 100% not to play, but it is difficult”.

Juve FC says

Every country wants to have all their best players fit and available for the World Cup.

This could be the last edition of the competition in which Lionel Messi plays, so Scaloni will want to give him the best teammates to win the competition.

Leandro Paredes and Angel di Maria are likely fit enough to represent their nation in the competition.

But we’re not doing them any favors by letting the duo rest if they’re fit enough to play and we need them.
