AP Top 25 Poll for Week 9 Released – Georgia, Ohio State, Tennessee, and Michigan Still in College Football Playoff Places

AP Top 25 Week 9 Poll Release: Georgia, Ohio State, Tennessee and Michigan still in college football playoff spots – originally posted on Sportslens.com

The Top 25 AP poll for week nine has been released and the places at the top have not changed since week eight. Georgia, Ohio State, Tennessee and Michigan still hold the CFP spots, while Alabama and Clemson are still out.

Big wins aren’t enough to change college football rankings

Two of the teams at the CFP venues were down this week as Georgia and Michigan stood up and watched their competitors in action. What they saw might have been a bit scary as all the teams in contention won, most convincingly.

Alabama put Mississippi State in 24th place 30-6, while Clemson beat 14th-ranked Syracuse by six points. Clemson has even done enough this year to earn a number one vote, but both they and Bama remain outside of current college football playoff spots.

They are occupied by the aforementioned Georgia at one and Michigan at four. Ohio State is at two after they beat Iowa and Tennessee, who did the same to Tennessee-Martin are at three.

There was a new entry at 25 when South Carolina snuck in at 25. Shane Beamer’s boys are on a four-fight win streak after beating Texas A&M on Saturday.

Until next time

There are three top 25 mathchups next Saturday, which are as follows:

#2 Ohio State @ #13 Penn State (12:00 p.m. on Fox) #9 Oklahoma State @ #22 Kansas State (3:30 p.m. on Fox) #19 Kentucky @ #3 Tennessee (7:00 p.m. on ESPN)
