Manchester United’s rising Brazilian star has hit the ground running with the Red Devils, scoring on his Premier League debut.
However, it seems he has also made an impact in the dressing room and on the training ground, as The Sun reports that he has become United’s number one prankster.
A source told the newspaper: “All the players absolutely love Antony. He is like a Tasmanian devil.”
“When he is training and playing, he is 100%,” he continues.
“And when it’s time to relax, he’s one of the guys and he loves to laugh and joke around.”
Apparently, his Brazilian teammate, Fred, has been on the receiving end of some of his jokes: “He knows Fred from the Brazil national team, so he’s been playing a couple of jokes on him which the guys have enjoyed,” revealed the source.
Antony has played under Erik ten Hag at Ajax before and joined the Reds for £85m in the summer.
His first goal in his debut performance helped secure United’s 3–1 victory over Arsenal.
According to The Sun, Martinez is also settling in well, with the source saying:
“Martinez is a beast. He trains exactly like he plays; he attacks, fights and does whatever it takes to win.”
He has also played with Ten Hag at Ajax.
United fans will be hoping they can continue to rally the dressing room and help their team-mates on the pitch week in and week out to victory.
