Manchester United winger Antony praised his teammate Cristiano Ronaldo as he revealed how the Portuguese has impressed the most.
Speaking to Manchester United’s official website, Antony praised Ronaldo’s mentality, which he described as ‘strong’, and praised the Portuguese’s intelligence.
“His mentality, it’s so strong. He is very intelligent. This mentality of his, looking forward to the next day, everything still to play, is what I’m trying to embrace and maintain for the rest of my life,” Antony said.
Antony also revealed that Ronaldo has helped him feel comfortable at Man Utd since he arrived at the club.
How have Antonio and Cristiano Ronaldo behaved so far in the 22/23 season?
Antony joined Manchester United in the 2022 summer transfer window. The Red Devils signed the highly rated Brazilian international from Ajax. That deal also saw him reunite with Man Utd manager Erik ten Hag, who was his manager at Ajax.
Antony has signed a five-year contract with the Old Trafford team. He marked his debut with a goal against Arsenal as Man Utd secured a 3-1 win over the Premier League table leaders.
Antony has so far appeared in seven games for Manchester United, in the Europa League and the Premier League. He has also racked up three goals, all of which he produced in the Premier League.
Ronaldo, meanwhile, sealed a sensational return to Manchester United in the 2021 summer transfer window. The now 37-year-old scored 24 goals and finished the 21/22 season as Man Utd’s top scorer.
However, he has had a difficult start to the 22/23 season. The Portuguese superstar is no longer unbeatable from the starting eleven. In fact, she has only made one Premier League start this season.
Ronaldo has so far appeared in 11 games for the Old Trafford side this season. He has scored just two goals so far, one in the Premier League and one in the Europa League.
Ronaldo scored his first goal of the season as Man Utd took on FC Sheriff in their second game of the Europa League group stage. The Portuguese international converted a penalty in that match.
His first Premier League goal of the season came in his seventh league game in the 22/23 campaign. He scored that goal against Everton, coming off the bench to put Man Utd ahead 2-1.
