Antony, Casemiro and Fred selected for Brazil national team ahead of friendlies – Man United News And Transfer News

The Manchester United trio of Antony, Casemiro and Fred have been called up by Brazil for friendlies in France against Ghana and Tunisia.

In today’s announcement by Brazil national team manager Tite, all three have been selected to participate in the upcoming international break as the World Cup in Qatar approaches.

United loaner Alex Telles, currently in Spain with Sevilla, also got a chance to represent his country.

Telles, who recently revealed that he left Old Trafford to increase his chances of being selected for the World Cup in which the Seleção are one of the favourites, will feel that he has begun to reap the rewards of his decision.

Antony, the most recent arrival at the Theater of Dreams, has been selected ahead of Arsenal duo Gabriel Jesus and Gabriel Martinelli.

Both of Arsenal’s forwards have been in fine form since the start of the season, helping Arsenal win 5/6 games, with their only loss coming at the hands of the Red Devils.

Jesus, who already has three goals and three assists in an Arsenal shirt, will feel especially bad. Many will think that his performances certainly warranted a call-up.

The decision has left Arsenal fans furious, who feel their talisman deserved a place ahead of Antony.

Tite’s decision appears to align with an earlier report that Antony’s move to United and the Premier League carried more weight with him than with other clubs and leagues.

Antony has already started two games for the 20-time English champions, including yesterday’s 1-0 Europa League loss to Real Sociedad.

He has the only debut goal he scored against the Gunners.

United fans will surely be delighted that their new 22-year-old star has broken into Brazil’s elite squad roster, which contains the likes of Neymar and Real Madrid’s Vinicius Jr.

They will be delighted to have outdone their Premier League foes in this regard.
