Antonio Conte Can Be the Next Juventus Boss if Allegri Is Sacked

Tottenham Hotspur manager Antonio Conte is leading the race to become Juventus’s next manager if Massimiliano Allegri is sacked in the coming days.

After a decade of dominance in Serie-A, Juventus have failed to finish in the top three during their last two terms.

They have now had a very poor start to the current season. Juventus have won just four of their first ten matches. They have added sixteen points so far and sit seventh in the table.

His record in Europe is even worse. Juventus started with two consecutive losses against Paris Saint-Germain and Benfica in the UEFA Champions League. They then defeated Maccabi Haifa at home. But in the second leg, the Bianconeri suffered a humiliating loss to the Israeli team last week.

Since that defeat, the morale in the Juventus field is totally low. The Bianconeri board has decided to give Allegri one last chance. Allegri also made the decision to stay with the team and accepted the challenge to get Juventus out of their situation.

However, things do not seem easy for him. And any other slip is sure to see Allegri lose his job.

In that case, Juventus already keeps its options open. According to Gazzetta Dello Sport, Tottenham manager Antonio Conte is the favorite for the Juventus job.

A former Juventus player, Conte, coached the Bianconeri in the early part of the last decade. The Italian coach has helped Juventus win three consecutive Serie A titles between 2011 and 2014.

Notably, he also stopped Juventus’ dominance in Serie A when they won the league with Inter Milan in the 2020-21 season. Now, the Italian manager is now in charge of Tottenham of the English Premier League. Below him, the Spurs have twenty-three points and are currently in third position in the EPL table.

Conte’s contract with Tottenham is due to expire at the end of the season and Spurs management want him to continue at the club. Contract renewal negotiations with the Italian will soon begin.

Another great favorite to assume the position is Argentine coach Mauricio Pochettino. Pochettino is currently out of work following his departure from Paris Saint-Germain.

Former Juventus player Zinedine Zidane is also another option for Tottenham. But the Champions League-winning manager is currently not interested in taking over.

Another option for Tottenham is Thomas Tuchel, who recently managed Chelsea. But Conte still leads the race for the job.

Allegri’s team returned to winning ways in their last game against rival Torino. Currently, this has restored some confidence to the Juventus team. They will now hope to build momentum from this victory.
