Anthony Joshua accepts 40/60 split to face Tyson Fury, says Eddie Hearn

The buzz continues to mount about a potential year-end fight between Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua. After being offered a 60/40 split in favor of Fury for a proposed matchup in November, Matchroom promoter Eddie Hearn says they accepted that offer.

“So I came back this morning and said ‘we take 60/40, we want that booked in a rematch, rightfully so, because you’re the champion, you want the biggest division, et cetera, which I think is fair, and we want to make the fight in december.’

“Now, interestingly, they have December 17, Queensbury, at the Millennium Stadium. So that’s perfect, that’s perfect for us.”

Despite Hearn’s affirmation of acceptance, nothing has been formally agreed upon via contracts or anything at this time, and it appears that haggling over the proposed date for the fight still needs to be haggled over. That said, things seem to be going in a positive direction so far.
