Allegri delivers an update on Pogba and Chiesa conditionsJuvefc.com

Max Allegri provided an update on the condition of Paul Pogba and Federico Chiesa after both players returned to training with Juventus.

Chiesa has been out for almost a year, while Pogba was injured in pre-season.

The attacker returned to team training days before the Frenchman’s signing, but neither of them has been fit for Juve’s Serie A match against Empoli tomorrow.

Chiesa looks very close to his first match for the Bianconeri since the setback and Allegri confirms that he will play a friendly on Sunday.

However, he insists there is no need to rush Pogba’s recovery. He said via Tuttomercatoweb:

“I would also like to have the entire squad available, but give changes to those who always play. As for Chiesa and Pogba: Chiesa has progressed, a friendly will be organized on Saturday morning for him to see the state and how he moves on the pitch. Paul did some things with the team. Let’s not forget that he hasn’t had a serious workout since July 23. You need to give him time, to rush him back to a game early and jeopardize all the work would be sheer insanity.”

Juve FC says

Chiesa and Pogba are two key players for us and we miss their influence on this team.

However, for our long-term benefit, we must not rush them back into action. Instead, patience is important to help them fully recover and prevent problems from happening again in the future.
