After his brilliant goal in the Europa League against Real Sociedad, it has transpired that Alejandro Garnacho was sanctioned twice by coach Erik ten Hag during the preseason for arriving late to team meetings.
After the Sociedad match, some comments caught the attention of the enthusiastic listeners, especially from Bruno Fernandes.

The Times has since revealed that Bruno was referring to the pre-season tour of Thailand and Australia, where Garnacho was late for team meetings twice.
This meant that Ten Hag did not give the youngster the opportunity to participate in the four planned friendlies, however, the winger did participate in the friendly against Rayo Vallecano at Old Trafford.
It seems that Garnacho has improved his professionalism and seems to be impressing both Erik ten Hag and his teammates.
Ten Hag has made him part of the first-team squad and recently started him in the Europa League, while Bruno also claimed his attitude had changed in an interview with MUTV.
“He didn’t get his chances before because he wasn’t good enough in training and not good enough mentally.” He has changed that, so he has opportunities. Everyone is very happy for him and satisfied with his goal.’
United have had high hopes for the young winger since he arrived from Atletico Madrid two years ago.
He has been prolific throughout the youth setup. He starred for the Spain under 18 team before choosing to play for Argentina, and since then has scored 4 goals in 5 games for the Argentina under 20 team.
He also won the Jimmy Murphy Young Player of the Year award at United last season, further emphasizing the high regard the club holds him.
Erik ten Hag is known to be a disciplinary one and requires professionalism from everyone within the club, this situation only shows that these methods are paying off.
