Manchester United wunderkind Alejandro Garnacho couldn’t help but get emotional after starring alongside his hero Cristiano Ronaldo, against Sheriff Tiraspol, on Thursday night.
United put in a dominant performance beating the Moldovan outfit 3-0 in the Europa League.
It wasn’t the eighteen-year-old’s first appearance for the Red Devils, and it certainly won’t be his last.
However, it was the teen star’s first chance to start at the Theater of Dreams. It was an opportunity she didn’t let go begging.
A start to remember
Reminiscent of Ronaldo’s debut many moons ago, Garnacho seemed anything but overwhelmed by the occasion.
From passing with surgical precision to terrorizing the Sheriff’s defense, Garnacho put in an impressive performance. His impressive performance earned him a standing ovation when Donny van de Beek ran onto the pitch to take his place with 11 minutes remaining on the clock.
A photograph captured the highlight of the night for the young Garnacho. In the moving image, Ronaldo walks on the pitch with his arm around Garnacho.

The star shared the image on Twitter, captioning it with a confession:
“I don’t know if it’s real or if I’m dreaming,” Garnacho wrote next to the image.
Ronaldo’s future beyond January is still uncertain, but it’s safe to say Alejandro Garnacho expects him to stay.
Erik ten Hag’s men will face Real Sociedad on the final day of the group stage to decide who wins Group E. United will hope to usurp the Spanish side to clinch the place among the eight group winners.
The winners of each group reach the round of 16 of the Europa League automatically. The runners-up still have a challenge to run. They must take part in a two-legged play-off against one of the third-placed Champions League teams.
