Manchester United defender Lisandro Martinez believes his team-mate and compatriot Alejandro Garnacho “has no ceiling” and has given the young Argentine a “bright future”.

Garnacho made his full debut for Manchester United when they took on FC Sheriff in a Europa League group stage match earlier this week. Although he didn’t record a goal or an assist, he was impressive for the Old Trafford team.

He gave the Sheriff’s defenders a hard time with his cunning and speed until Erik ten Hag substituted the Argentine for Donny van de Beek in the 79th minute of the match.

Garnacho also drew praise from Manchester United legend Paul Scholes after his impressive performance against FC Sheriff. Scholes compared the Manchester United winger to a young Cristiano Ronaldo. He also described Garnacho’s performance against Sheriff as exciting for an 18-year-old.

Speaking to ESPN Argentina, Martínez said that his compatriot has enormous talent and a bright future. The Man Utd centre-back also revealed the advice he has been giving the young Argentine.

Martínez also said that Garnacho has no ceiling and that he will contribute a lot to Manchester United and the Argentine team. “He has enormous talent and a bright future,” Martinez told ESPN Argentina. [via Daily Mail].

“Everything depends on him, on what he works for, but he is young, he has to continue learning, at his age he is in a team that is not easy [to get into].

“I tell him that he has to seize the moment, listen, ask for advice and do extra training. It has no roof. It will give a lot to Manchester United and the national team”.

Meanwhile, Garnacho has yet to make his senior Argentina debut, although he was called up to the squad earlier this year.

Meanwhile, Martinez joined Manchester United in the summer transfer window, with the Red Devils snapping him up from Ajax.

He immediately established himself as a regular starter at Man United. The 24-year-old has appeared in every Man Utd game so far this season, making 16 appearances in all competitions.

He has appeared in 11 games for Man Utd in the Premier League, where the Red Devils sit sixth in the points table with 20 points. Martinez has also made five appearances in the Europa League, where the Old Trafford side have 12 points in Group E.
