Serie A giants AC Milan are finally ready to complete the transfer deal for Moroccan international Hakim Ziyech after failing to convince Chelsea last summer.
Hakim Ziyech joined the Heerenveen academy at a very young age. He later graduated from the Heerenveen academy and was promoted to the main team.
Ziyech played two seasons at the Dutch club before joining Twente. The Moroccan soon became a mainstay for Twente and consistently scored plenty of goals for them. He spent two seasons at Twente before joining Dutch giants Ajax.
At Ajax, Ziyech established himself as one of the best wingers in the world. He played an important role in Ajax’s 2018-19 UEFA Champions League campaign, where the club reached the semi-finals after many years. Finally, at the start of the 2020-21 season, the Moroccan joined Chelsea when the Blues paid Ajax €44m.
AC Milan close to completing Ziyech deal
Now, according to a report by Calciomercato, the AC Milan board met in recent days with Hakim Ziyech’s lawyer.
Ziyech was one of Milan’s main targets in the last transfer window of the summer. The Italian club even sent an offer of 25+5 million euros for the winger. However, Chelsea rejected that offer and kept Hakim Ziyech.
After that, the Blues fired German manager Thomas Tuchel. British manager Graham Potter was brought in to replace the Champions League-winning manager. But so far Ziyech hasn’t had any impact under Potter.
Ziyech has only made five appearances for the Blues so far and is now reportedly looking to move on from the club. It has now been understood that this time around Chelsea are willing to drop the winger if a decent offer arrives.
Now AC Milan is the defending Serie-A champion. They got off to a decent start to their season. With twenty-three points from the first ten matches, the Rossoneri are currently in third position in the table.
However, the Milan management know they need more tickets in the winter transfer window if they are to turn their strong start into another title. So, seeing Ziyech’s situation, they resumed negotiations.
And now, this time, it looks like the deal will finally go through. One of the most creative players in his position, a lot of creativity to the AC Milan team. In exchange, he will get a lot of playing time from the Italian team.
