Aaron Rodgers Says “I’m Not Going To San Fran” Amid Packers Future Uncertainty

Aaron Rodgers confirmed live on television that he will not be going to the San Francisco 49ers, and the 39-year-old is still unsure of his future with the Green Bay Packers.

Rodgers was participating in a hole-in-one challenge at Pebble Beach Pro-AM, and was asked if he wanted to break news to a national television audience.

“I’m not going to San Francisco,” was Rodgers’ reply.

The 49ers have Trey Lance and Brock Purdy on rookie-level contracts, so it seems unlikely they’ll pursue Rodgers via trade with the Packers. Rodgers will be paid more than $59 million next season, with a salary cap of $31.6 million.

San Francisco will likely opt to play its younger quarterbacks with cheap offers rather than spend too much on a Rodgers trade when he turns 40 in the new season.

Rodgers has been linked with moving to California in the past, especially since he was born in Northern California and played for the University of California.

It’s unclear where Rodgers will head for his 19th season in the league, with his future with the Packers still to be decided.
