After suffering a lot of pressure from fans, Manchester United decided to loan Mason Greenwood to La Liga side Getafe on deadline day.
The club had initially planned to reinstate the England international after the Crown Prosecution Service dropped all charges against him.
During his time in Spain, the 22-year-old has so far scored three goals and assisted four more in 15 La Liga appearances and his performances have sparked interest from elite clubs.
During all this time, the forward has not given too many interviews but he did have the opportunity to speak after being recently named Player of the Month for December.
Greenwood on his time at Getafe
The United academy graduate spoke about life in Spain and how the fans helped him adapt to a new environment after a difficult few years at home.
“Everything is fine, I adapted pretty quickly. My teammates took me under his protection and I have been happy since I arrived here, training and playing,” Greenwood said in an interview conducted by the club.
“The fans mean a lot to me. The best feeling so far was when I scored my first goal here in the stadium and it meant a lot to me, I heard a lot from the fans.

“We also had the training day and a lot of fans came and watched, so we always appreciate the fans, they are like another man on the pitch when they support us.”
He was also asked about his new team’s chances of qualifying for Europe after a good start to the season that has seen them rise to eighth position in the standings.
In the future
Inspired by the United player, Getafe has achieved impressive results against teams such as Sevilla, Athletic Bilbao and Atlético de Madrid.
“Yes, that is always a possibility. The coach reminds us and we all have an idea, but we have to go game by game, but that is the final result we want to achieve.”
In addition to Real Madrid and Barcelona, his current loan team also wants to keep their new star for the long term.
His future remains up in the air and it will be interesting to see what Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s new regime decides to do with Greenwood in the summer.
