Ex-Juventus midfielder explains Allegri’s mistake over Dragusin

Radu Dragusin joined Tottenham from Genoa and Juventus will receive some money from the sale clause of the deal that took him to the Serie A club.

Dragusin is one of the best talents to come through Juve’s ranks and was progressing well in his first team.

However, when Max Allegri returned to the club, he did not trust the youngster as Andrea Pirlo had previously done and sanctioned his move to Genoa.

He developed further at the Serie A club before moving to the Premier League this month.

Juve are likely to wish they had collected the transfer fee Genoa received or kept him as an important member of their squad.

Former Juventus player Giancarlo Marocchi admits that Allegri made a mistake by not trusting Dragusin.

He said, quoted by Calciomercato:

“Allegri is good at bringing back young people. Miretti had come on, then he was on the bench and now he has been deployed again. A defect? Dragusin had moved to that area, but Alex Sandro, who then only had one year on his contract, was preferred. That’s a mistake but he’s making up for it great. What is Juventus’ strong point? “This year Allegri has convinced everyone that they are a team, defense is important but now Juventus is producing much more in attack.”

Juve FC says

Dragusin showed he had the talent for the big stage when he played for us, but there is no point in regretting allowing him to leave now.
