After his strong cameo off the bench against Nottingham Forest, there is a clamor among fans to see more of Amad.

The Ivorian looked like a new signing against Forest, offering something different to the pure dynamism of Antony and Pellistri.

Speaking to the club website before the game against Tottenham, Amad said he did not expect to play almost 30 minutes in the game against Forest.

He had just recovered from a long-term injury and said being thrown straight into the deep end meant a lot to him as it showed the confidence the coach had in him.

He said, “Well, to be honest, I didn’t expect to play so soon,” he remembers when the coach brought him in.

“I thought maybe I would play the last 10 or 15 minutes because I was coming back from an injury, but the fact that he brought me in at that time meant that the coach trusted me and I was very happy to have played in that game.”

United ultimately lost the match despite Amad’s enterprising efforts, but the winger is determined to be the one to celebrate next time.

Amad also spoke about his overall relationship with Ten Hag and his words will be music to fans’ ears.

He spoke about the unwavering standards Ten Hag has set at the club and said that even if there is a slight dip in training, he personally helps you and lets you know.

Amad said those are the type of coaches he likes and working with him is “really something that doesn’t happen every day,” effectively calling working with him special.

He said: “He is a person who wants to work hard; Even in training and when you go slow, he calls you and tells you to go harder.

“I like coaches like that, who let you know that you need to train hard. My relationship with him is a good relationship.”

Fans who were worried about how involved Amad will be after his return from injury will be reassured by this news.

Next up is Tottenham, and the time has come for both player and manager to put their words into practice.
