Nemanja Matic has been harshly criticized for his recent absence from training at current club Rennes.

The former Manchester United player has been involved in a dispute with the Ligue 1 club.

According to The Mirror, the French team have attacked former Manchester United and Chelsea star Nemanja Matic after he failed to attend training, calling his actions “totally incomprehensible”.

It was previously reported that the Serb is “unhappy in Rennes and pushing for an immediate exit. “It is understood that the 35-year-old is particularly interested in returning to England’s top flight.”

The former Chelsea player has made 19 appearances in all competitions for Rennes, but is believed to have “struggled to fit in with his teammates and there are complications regarding his children’s schooling.”

Consequently, to force an exit, Matic has not attended club training.

It is understandable that his current club is not very satisfied with the situation and has issued the following statement.

“Stade Rennais FC midfielder Nemanja Matic has not been able to attend the final training sessions with the professional team.”

“This behavior is totally incomprehensible on the part of an experienced player with a contract until 2025. Always concerned about the well-being of its players, the club would like to point out that all the necessary steps have been carried out for the successful integration of Nemanja Matic and his environment. . with total transparency.”

“SRFC is now awaiting explanations from the player and is determined to take all necessary measures to protect its interests.”

The Premier League winner is reportedly very unhappy with the level of education his children receive and this is seen as one of the main reasons why the experienced defensive midfielder is looking for a move.

Matic has since responded in an Instagram story where he attempted to clarify the issue.

“I want to end the speculation and say that last summer I had the honor of receiving the invitation from Stade Rennais to be an important part of an ambitious project that needed a player of my characteristics and experience.”

The midfielder added that due to his own mistake he did not manage to adapt his private life to his professional life.

“I was not able to enroll the children who have attended since the beginning of schooling in the international school. “That’s why I was away the last three days to try to solve this big problem for me and my family and tomorrow I will return to Rennes where I will decide the next steps together with the club.”
