Klopp can’t believe how much ‘super, super’ LFC player has improved

If you thought Jurgen Klopp would be left alone with Conor Bradley, think again!

The German tactician was on hand to praise the efforts of Scouse midfielder Curtis Jones after another outstanding performance in midfield against Fulham.

“Curtis. [Jones] It’s super, super, super important to us and he knows it. I happened to listen to his interview and the only thing I could think of was, “I need more playing time.” *laughs* I love it! “I’m so sorry, Curtis, for not giving you more game time sooner,” the 56-year-old told BBC Radio 5 Live (via BBC Sport).

“He has taken great steps. He looked like the fittest player on the entire field. He took a hit, I think a dead leg, he went down, but a second later he turned around and scored.

“A good footballer, very, very good, he always was… but using these skills, now he is for me, for him, for everyone, thank God, and he does it consistently. That’s really cool. He made great strides in defensive aspects, which gives him a better feel for the game. Then suddenly he can show his quality more.”

The Merseysiders still have everything to play for in two weeks’ time, having only managed a narrow 2-1 lead to defend at Craven Cottage in the second leg of their Carabao Cup semi-final.

What footballer has Jones become?

It’s almost alarming how quickly Jones has become an absolute lynchpin of the team at just 22 years old.

The footballer with 74 touches was the heart behind this latest victory for Liverpool, losing only one of the 48 passes made in L4, according to statistics recorded by Sofascore.

How many footballers are so reliable with the ball? Are you unfazed by the occasion?

There may have once been doubts about the type of player Jones would become, but not anymore.

We have a real player, as they say, on our hands.
