Liverpool finally reveal when Thiago and Stefan Bajcetic WILL be back – Liverpool FC

Liverpool have waited a long time to get Thiago or Stefan Bajcetic, but the end may finally be in sight if the return to training goes as planned.

Jurgen Klopp has not been able to call up Thiago since April last year, due to a hip injury that required surgery, which was then followed by a series of setbacks.

It was a problem the Spaniard had predicted himself, such is his style of play, but he could be getting closer to playing a role this season, and the same could be said for Bajcetic.

The young midfielder has featured twice in 2023/24 but has not been seen in the last 22 matches, although the club plan to reintroduce him to training in February.

“They won’t be ready by the end of this month. Probably next month he will train with us,” assistant coach Pepijn Lijnders said of the club’s plan.

“But both [with] without complications, progressing.”

It is at least positive news, unlike the recent knock suffered by Trent Alexander-Arnold, although we still have to wait some time before they return to full training and then competitive action.

Returning to training with the full team will be a boost not only for them but for the entire squad, from then on they will have to adapt and train without problems before facing a competitive outing.

This could be late February or even March, much will depend on their fitness, stamina and how they react to increasing their workload after so much time away from the team.

At this stage, however, this can only be seen as a positive, and his return to training is likely to follow that of Andy Robertson and Kostas Tsimikas.

“Hopefully both Robbo and Kostas will return at the end of this month to train with the team,” Lijnders told reporters on Friday.
