Real Madrid’s Manager Carlo Ancelotti Reveals He Owes His Job to Sergio Ramos

Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti said he would not be at the club today if it were not for Sergio Ramos, former Los Blancos player.

Sergio Ramos is currently plying his trade for Sevilla and will face his former team Real Madrid in the next match. Ramos was a Real Madrid player for 16 seasons, playing for the Spanish giants between 2005 and 2021.

Sergio Ramos worked under current Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti during the Italian’s first spell with the La Liga heavyweights. Ancelotti was coach of Real Madrid between 2013 and 2015 in his first stage at the club.

Before the upcoming Real Madrid vs Sevilla League match, coach Carlo Ancelotti said that he has a special affection for Sergio Ramos.

Carlo Ancelotti said that he would not be Real Madrid coach today if it were not for Sergio Ramos’ goal in the 2013/14 Champions League final.

Real Madrid defeated Atlético Madrid 4-1 in the final, but were facing defeat for most of the 90 minutes. Diego Godín had put Atlético de Madrid ahead in the first half and Real Madrid could not find the equalizer until the 90+3 minute, when Sergio Ramos scored to take the game to extra time.

“If I am here today it is because of Sergio Ramos. If he had not scored the goal in the [Champions League] In the end, I probably wouldn’t be here. For that and for everything he did for this club, everyone is very fond of him… I’m sure he will play well. Let’s hope he doesn’t score but if he does he can [celebrate] However you want!”

Meanwhile, Real Madrid have had a fantastic start to the 23/24 La Liga campaign. Carlo Ancelotti and company. Situate at the top of the La Liga points table with 24 points in nine games.

Sevilla, for its part, occupies 14th place in the points table. The match between Real Madrid and Sevilla will begin at 10:00 PM Indian Standard Time on Saturday.
