Firmino’s agent speaks on the Brazilian’s Liverpool exit

All Liverpool supporters were saddened to hear the news that Bobby Firmino will be leaving Liverpool at the end of the season and now, adding more strength to these strong rumours, the player’s agent has spoken out about the news.

As reported by Football Insider’s David Lynch: “Roberto Firmino’s agent reveals that his client would not let him hold talks with other clubs before making a decision about his future at Liverpool, adding: “Roberto’s plan is to show him to the coach and to Liverpool the best version of him to say goodbye to”.

Our number 9 is a much-loved member of Jurgen Klopp’s squad and is one of the few left at the club who was actually signed by former manager Brendan Rodgers, such is his longevity with the club.

The Brazilian has clearly given a lot of thought to where he wanted to spend his future and it seems he wants to leave Anfield while he can still deliver consistently high-quality performances, rather than wait for his powers to wane over time.

This is certainly admirable and, if the above report is to be believed, we are going to have a highly motivated 31-year-old within our squad who will strive to put himself in the strongest position to bid farewell to Merseyside.

It should always be the case that you leave them wanting more and, like Sadio Mane last summer, this feels like the start of dismantling one of our best sides and preparing to hopefully build a new one.
