Report: Di Maria keeps Barcelona on hold as he considers Juventus renewal

After an injury-plagued first half of the campaign, Angel Di Maria has become the toast of the city of Turin after some terrific performances between January and February.

The 35-year-old is now considered Juventus’ main talisman. Although he wasn’t at his best in yesterday’s Derby della Mole, he still contributed an assist to Danilo’s equalizer.

Therefore, the management intends to stay with the Argentine for one more campaign, and the player himself, it seems, is becoming fond of black and white colors.

According to La Stampa via ilBianconero, Barcelona are still hoping to get Di María’s services after losing the player last summer.

However, the source believes that the veteran now has a clear priority: sign the renewal with Juventus. For this reason, El Fideo has left the Catalans in suspense while it focuses on seeking an agreement with its current bosses.

The winger spent four successful campaigns with the Blaugrana’s arch-rivals Real Madrid, but he would not be the first player to represent both Spanish giants.

Juve FC says

Obviously, the rapport between Di María and Juventus has been growing gradually in recent months. The World Cup winner has also formed a special bond with supporters, as evidenced by his goal celebrations.

But while the signs are positive, the Argentine star might want to find out more about the future of the club amid ongoing legal troubles before making a final decision.
