Liverpool leading Juventus in the race for Atalanta man

Juventus have been interested in signing Atalanta player Teun Koopmeiners, but the bianconeri will have a hard time incorporating him into their squad.

The midfielder has been shining under Gian Piero Gasperini and could switch clubs at the end of his term.

Juve have watched him and believe the Dutchman can do a job for them, but a report in Tuttomercatoweb reveals they are not leading the race for his signature.

Instead, he claims that Liverpool like the midfielder too and that the Reds are the best team in the running at the moment.

Juve FC says

We are one of the best clubs in European football, but Liverpool are also qualified for that title and the Reds need a rebuild.

They too are having a bad season and want to renew their team at the end of the term.

We must be concerned about Liverpool’s interest because the Reds can easily match Atalanta’s €50m valuation or even raise their transfer price.

Because Koopmeiners is not Italian, it would be okay to leave Serie A and most footballers in the world dream of playing in the Premier League.

This means the odds are stacked against Juventus to settle the deal.
