Why so many Chelsea fans are ready for Graham Potter’s exit – Talk Chelsea

I never like to claim that I speak for all Chelsea fans, I absolutely do not. So I’d also like to say that of course there will be some fans who still don’t feel that way.

Disclaimer, let’s get down to business.

I continued to try to keep my faith in the project and in the manager. But I did admit that after the Spurs loss on Sunday, that has seriously diminished for me at the moment, and if they decide to pull the plug on Graham Potter, as much as I want to get away from the manager’s merry-go-round, they have pushed to the point where I really I think it might be right now.

I invested in this project and fully supported it and Potter. It’s so hard for me to almost give him up. But I’ve literally been pushed so far in the last few weeks that there doesn’t seem to be a way back for me. And that’s because the facts far outweigh anything else right now.

We are not seeing anything close to progression. We saw a bit of that in one game, but then we went seriously off track again and have regressed since then.

Chelsea have scored just six goals in all competitions since November 6, the fewest of any team in England’s top four leagues, and forty fewer than Manchester United in the same period.

When you read a fact like that, it makes you wonder how the hell Potter is still the manager. If someone else did that horribly at his job, they’re gone. This is totally and completely unacceptable and is the main reason why I am now on a razor’s edge in terms of what I want to see and what I think needs to happen, and the fact that my faith in this project with Potter is now gone. clings to the tiniest piece of thread.

We’ve all been looking at the excuses and reasons why we don’t improve. Injuries and players who need time to adapt. These are not lies; these are valid reasons. But now we have reached the point where these excuses no longer hold and patience is running out. Even with the above, the lack of goals is completely unforgivable.

Our performances are inexcusable. The lack of identity that Potter has instilled thus far is inexcusable. We can’t score goals, which is THE only way to win soccer games. That’s a BIG problem, as if I had to state that obvious fact.

Potter’s decisions have become increasingly wild and directionless. Our team and roster have become wildly unstable and frighteningly sporadic, like he has no idea which team is the best on him. And we need to build our best Xl and make it grounded.

There is no leadership. So when there’s no leadership, it’s up to the manager to lead, and I’m afraid he’s not doing that. I’m never going to attack his personality or tell him he needs to change, but if we were to see more of him on the sidelines, maybe there would be a little more support at a stage where, to be honest, even now he’s lost the most patient of all. fans. I don’t see a way back right now.

There are petitions out there with thousands of signatures calling for him to be fired, the media is all over the place, and many fans I’ve spoken to won’t be changing their minds anytime soon.

The club is now caught between a rock and a hard place, because they have put a lot of trust and faith in Potter and believe in his choice. Sacking Thomas Tuchel to replace him with a manager they hand-selected as the ‘right man’, then firing him and looking to hire a third manager in the same season, is something they will want to avoid at all costs. Imagine the circus that will ensue.

But unfortunately, right now, it’s hard for me to see any other way.

The facts prevent me from continuing to ‘trust the process’ at this point, and I hate being pushed into this. Although personally, I don’t dare actively call for the firing of another manager. Although my feelings are clear.
