Supporters announce ‘demonstration’ at Anfield regarding Paris final

Liverpool and Real Madrid will meet for the first time since the Champions League final in Paris last season and given the recently published report on the events that took place that night, there will now be a demonstration during the game.

On his own Twitter account, Spion Kop 1906 wrote: “During tonight’s game, there will be a demonstration for a short period in connection with the events of Paris 2022. We would greatly appreciate the support of the entire stadium.” .

This is the same group of fans who successfully organized ‘Flag Day’ against Everton and have thus shown that they have the popular support of the match-going Reds who are asked to wear out this show of support too.

What, where and when will happen has yet to be revealed, but it will surely be a public demonstration to UEFA that we are not happy with the way our supporters were treated on their signature occasion.

Let’s hope the presence of supporters from Spain will also help our cause, as there are likely to be many supporters present on Merseyside who were also in the French capital at the end of the last campaign.

The organizers of the competition and the event were lucky that there were no more serious repercussions for their gross mishandling of the game, so we deserve the chance to express our feelings.

Let’s hope this is done the right way but also with the full support of those who were lucky enough to attend the match.
