Man United transfer news: Top clubs eyeing Rashford

Top clubs are in the know about Marcus Rashford’s situation at Manchester United, according to transfer news expert Fabrizio Romano in his latest CaughtOffside column.

The Red Devils urgently need to work out a new contract for Rashford, and Romano admits it’s one of his top priorities at the moment, as the in-form England international’s current contract expires in 2024.

It’s been a season to remember for Rashford, with the 25-year-old looking to reach the height of his powers under new Man Utd manager Erik ten Hag.

Romano praised Rashford and made it clear that he feels Ten Hag is the right manager for him, but it’s also not surprising to hear that top clubs may be keeping an eye on those contract negotiations.

Marcus Rashford has been in excellent form for Manchester United

With 24 goals in all competitions so far this season, it’s clear Rashford is emerging as an elite striker who could surely shine for a number of Europe’s biggest clubs if he were to leave Old Trafford.

“I’ve been very impressed with Marcus Rashford’s improvement this season, but it’s not a big surprise either as Erik ten Hag is a fantastic coach and Marcus has always been a top player. It was a matter of time, and he is the best coach for him.

“Ten Hag really wanted Rashford as the face of the Man Utd project from day one. Of course the top clubs are informed about the contract situation, but I am also sure that Man United will push again in the coming months to achieve this; It’s the top priority.”
